Steve Jobs dies age 56
The genius inventor who co-founded Apple Inc. has died in the early hours of Thursday 6th October 2011. Steve Jobs was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2003, and after three periods of sickness leave, he resigned as Apple CEO in August 2011. During his life Steve Jobs bought Pixar animation company in 1986 for $10m and was estimated to be worth more than £5.4bn in 2010. He had 4 children.
